Meeting People Where They Are (some thoughts from a 2019 Newsletter…)

July 31, 2022 by Valerie

So… I was at the gym and the Lord started showing me differences in life.

Some people are tall. Some are short. Some people are a bit heftier than others. Some are stronger than others.

Some seem to enjoy working out while others of us are not too sure about it.

Some seem to really know what they are doing, and others were reading the directions on the machines.

The lesson in all this to me was that even though some people know exactly where they are
going and how to get there, others are either not quite sure or a bit timid about the journey
.

This is one reason, I believe, this ministry exists: God wants us to meet people where they are
and help them in their journey. After all, that is what the Great Commission is about –
discipleship and evangelism.

Through Christ We Hear

July 20, 2018 by Valerie

Although God gave His Word to the prophets in the Old Testament to bring nations and people to repentance, couldn’t we also learn that He wants to have that kind of intimate relationship with us as He did His prophets.

Jesus came so that we may all have that kind of intimate relationship.

A relationship of listening to our Father who is showing us a more perfect way.  A relationship with our Father who tells us to come boldly before Him.  A relationship with our Father who has told us He will never leave us or forsake us.

Yes, we can learn from the boldness of the Old Testament prophets and I think, even from their fear.  For many times when we commune with God, we learn things that are uncomfortable or hard to understand.  But through each one, we can see that God speaks through even the least.  He knew their hearts.

Oh how I want my heart to be receptive to what “thus saith the Lord!”

Do you?

Now is the time…

January 9, 2017 by Valerie

Recently, God woke me up with this Word.  I hope it will bless and encourage you.

– Now is the time to risk – risk telling the truth; risk loving those who are unlovable and don’t want to be loved.  Now is the time.

– Now is the time to go  – go where you never thought you would; go to people you never thought you could.  Now is the time.

– Now is the time for trusting – trusting that taking the risks, and walking a new path will bring you more joy than you could ever fathom.  Trust in our God who has already experienced those risks and those paths.  Now is the time.

– Now is the time.  There is no more waiting for someone else to do what God has called you and me to do.  What is it that is piercing your spirit?  What is it that is piercing my spirit?  Go there.  Now is the time!

– Now is the time – time for rejoicing in who we are in a mighty, loving, and everything God!  Rejoice and again He says rejoice!  Now is the time.

Is there something the Holy Spirit has been nudging you to do?  Now is the time.  Just as Jesus told His disciples to go and find the colt for Him to ride on into Jerusalem and what to say to anyone who might question them, He knows what He has called you to do.  He will make sure it is as He says.  He will provide the provision and the answers.  (Mark 1:1-7)

SO LET’S GO AND SERVE THE LORD TOGETHER!  NOW IS THE TIME!

My love overflows.  The fields are white for harvest!  Let’s be laborers together.

Trust God’s Possibilities for the New Year

January 5, 2016 by Valerie

A new year – excitement for some; dread for others – it’s all a matter of perspective. Is the glass 1/2 full or 1/2 empty? Do we trust in our Lord Jesus or not? I’ve come to believe that the 1/2 full or 1/2 empty comes down to that. Or should I say UP to that. Where is our trust level?

If we tend to see things as problems rather than looking at them through the Problem-Solver, we probably need to get a bit more filled up on trust. A trust that is built on a God Who came to this earth in the most humble of ways. A God Who has experienced the highs and lows of this life. A God Who even after experiencing all the evil we could ever think of, still desired to take our sin upon Himself, our illnesses and pain upon Himself and go to the cross. A God Who rose up after conquering these ills for us to show us that He is THE VICTOR in our lives.

May we think about these things and let trust well up within and faith grow. This year concentrate on the red – the Words of Jesus and the blood He shed on our behalf. I believe that as we do this, our faith has no where to go but UP.

May we all have a good and “trust-filled” 2016! God Bless!

The One Thing That Never Changes

August 31, 2015 by Valerie

Steadfast Love Never Ceases

The summer is coming to an end (makes me sad). If you have young children, it means their ability to sleep late is at an end (got to wake up for school, you know!). The end of long days; the end of temperatures that can fry an egg. The experience of some good endings and some endings we regret.

Then… we have the beginning of school (can all the children say yay?), and the beginning of going to and from all the activities in which our children may be involved (can all the parents say yay!?).

Beginnings and endings…. They are constant in our lives.

We end one thing and start another. We end one day, one week, one month, one season and start another. It’s life and we have learned to go with it.

BUT…. THE REAL CONSTANT IN OUR LIVES IS NOT OUR ACTIVITIES OR OUR DAYS OR OUR TIME. THE REAL CONSTANT IS THE LOVE OF GOD, WHICH HAS NO BEGINNING AND NO END! IT IS JUST OURS!

Lamentations 3:22-23 says, “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.”

THERE IS NO ENDING TO GOD’S LOVE AND HIS MERCY!

Doesn’t matter the weather or our busyness. No matter our feelings of sadness, happiness, or apprehension. There is absolutely no ending to His love.

Look up this Scripture –Romans 8:38-39 (figured you could do this on your own).  Nothing, absolutely nothing, can separate us from God’s love. I will add to the writer’s list – not school, nor vacations, not heat nor cold, not work or sleep, etc., etc……………………

Thank you for being a part of Aaron and Andrew Ministries! We appreciate your prayers and participation with us in the work of the ministry.

Enjoy the cooler breezes and the slowly changing weather.

You are a blessing, but most of all – YOU ARE LOVED!
